National thought leaders reached consensus on principles of health care reform in a series of events sponsored by the Mayo Clinic Health Policy Center.
The principles, or cornerstones, include Creating Value, Coordinated Care, Payment Reform and Health Insurance for All. Each cornerstone includes action steps and strategies as well as Mayo Clinic Health Policy Center plans for moving patient-centered health care reform closer to reality.

Mayo Clinic, Kaiser Permanente and Intermountain Healthcare have worked collaboratively to publish a white paper Delivery System Reform: Action Steps and Pay-for-Value Approaches. As three leading health care organizations, they set forth a set of principles and characteristics they believe all health care organizations should strive to achieve. Read the paper.

The next president must exhibit strong leadership on health care reform. Polls consistently show that Americans want the president-elect to tackle this important issue.
